Brake Inspection

Many Canton and Stoughton residents often take for granted the fact their brakes work every time they push down on the pedal. Without regular inspection, the next time you step on the pedal could be the time it sinks to the floor and your heart sinks in your stomach.

Brakes should be inspected yearly, especially before winter and also if you are experiencing any of the following;

1) Continuously Squeaky Brakes- a lot of times a squeak here or there when braking can be the result of moisture trapped in the brake pads. When brakes are constantly squeaky, it probably means they are worn. Worn brakes can lead to difficulty stopping in emergency situations as well as increased stopping distances. Having your brakes inspected yearly can help prevent this problem before it starts.

2) Brake Pedal That is Less Firm Than Usual- if your brake pedal is feeling soft and spongy, you most likely have air in your hydraulic brake line which will eventually render your brakes useless. This problem must be addressed immediately.

 3) Overly Firm Brake Pedal- for the Residents of Norwood and Randolph, having an overly firm brake pedal usually means a problem with the power brake/vacuum booster that should be looked at immediately

4) Brake Light Illuminated- if you are a Milton resident and your brake light is consistently lit, your brake could be suffering from any of the above problems. Our certified technicians would diagnose your issue and present you with a written estimate before any work was undertaken.

At North End Motors, we offer brake inspections as a powerful preventative maintenance tool. Having an annual brake inspection can guard against more expensive problems and will also ensure the safety of your vehicle and family, which are our top concerns!
