Smart vehicles, or "Smart Cars" as they are referred to are Italian cars that differ from the traditional Italian style. They are not built for performance, but for efficiency and fuel economy. Once chuckled at by American consumers, with gas prices at an all time high the Smart Car is no longer a laughing matter. 

 

When considering the purchase of a used Smart model such as the Fortwo, there are a couple things to keep in mind:

-when people look at how compact and small the Fortwo is, they think "How can this be safe". In truth, Smart has installed what they call the "tridion" safety cell which directs impact force away from drivers and passengers

-the Smart car is good for city driving as it can fit in tight spots and maneuver around dense traffic
