Self dubbed "the ultimate driving machine", BMW cars make drivers feel intimately connected to the road through numerous different body styles such as sedans, wagons, coupes, SUVs and more.
When buying a used BMW such as the 1 Series, 3 Series, 5 Series, 6 Series 7 Series or the SUVs like the X1, X3, X5 and X6 there are a few things you should be on the lookout for:
-for the 3 series, be sure to get a detailed maintenance report on the cooling system, transmission (if automatic) and perform an in depth visual inspection of the weather stripping as the adhesive used on some of these models has been suspect
-test drive to ensure the power and handling is something you can handle, and that you will actually use the power and extra gas (do a lot of highway traveling)
-make sure to compare the different models in terms of interior space keeping in mind the size and quantity of passengers you'll be lugging around. Older 3 series are more cramped then say an X3
