Originally formed as the luxury vehicle division of Honda, Acura has been around in the U.S. since 1986. Since 2000, Acura has released the following models:
TL- competitively priced sporty/luxury cross model is a big hit with consumers. The car comes with loads of standard options. Make sure when buying pre-2005 models you look extra hard at the transmission because there has been some issues with it failing earlier in the life cycle. Make sure any TL you buy over 105k has had the timing belt and water pump replaced.
RL-a model that appeared in the 2005 Car and Driver's Best list, the car was built to compete with the BMW 5 series. It builds upon the TL, offering much more in terms of performance and features. All years of this car ride pretty solidly, and from '02 on the suspension system was changed, giving it a much smoother ride.
TSX-a 4 cylinder model built to compete with the BMW 3 series, its much like a European model Honda Accord except loaded with features. Acura enthusiasts recommend the 2004-2008 model years, with the 2006 year being the most favored due additional goodies like navigation system and handless phone options.
